A place to be heard, seen and validated.
Becoming a therapist has been a lifelong dream. After receiving my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Idaho in 1997 I decided rather than continue with my education I would focus on my family's needs. When the time came that my family's needs weren't so great I returned to school. I received my Master's degree in Psychology-Systems Counseling from LIOS Graduate College of Saybrook University. While attending the program I had the pleasure of completing my internship at YWCA-Pathways Counseling. In addition to my practice I have volunteered with Bonner General Hospice and North Idaho Crisis line.
My mission is to provide a comfortable and nurturing environment for my clients to learn, heal and grow. I believe we all hold the answers and wisdom that we seek deep inside us but for many reasons we can become disconnected from that source. My job is to guide your journey inward so you can access that which you already know and to offer feedback and perspective to help you understand and make meaning of what you find. Together we discover your potential for positive change and areas for growth, which may include the following:
• Healing the symptoms of depression and anxiety related to relationships, trauma, grief & loss, health concerns, and life transitions.
• Improving your ability to connect with yourself and others by learning to trust yourself, accept yourself and love yourself.
• Identifying, understanding and changing unhealthy patterns of thought and behavior.
• Improving your quality of life and your ability to enjoy life by learning how to live more intentionally and authentically.
• Gaining a sense of self-awareness, mindfulness and inner peace.
I consider myself extremely honored to be a part of such an intimate journey in the lives of my clients. I am humbled by their courage and honesty and am inspired by their will to create positive change.
